Consortium for analysis and remediation of per- and poly fluoroalkyl substances(CAR-PFAS Japan)
About CAR-PFAS Japan
History
The consortium was established on June 21, 2021, as an internal organization of AIST (National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology), with the aim of disseminating technology seeds developed at AIST and the latest international research findings to domestic industries and local governments, thereby enhancing PFAS countermeasure technologies (measurement and treatment) in Japan.
Originally intended as a three-year initiative, the consortium’s activities were extended until March 2025 due to strong interest in its continuation.
Starting in April 2025, the consortium will transition to a new structure, with Campus Create Co., Ltd. serving as the secretariat, and will continue its activities as a voluntary organization.
